Semaglutide is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes by regulating blood sugar levels. Changes in food preferences- away from fatty foods and carbohydrates. Reduced energy intake. Semaglutide is administered once a week by injection.
Contraindications to Semaglutide include: a personal history of pancreatitis, alcohol abuse, renal impairment, diabetic retinopathy, uncontrolled psychiatric disorders, personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
